Steel Mill Pump Conversion
Recently, a local steel mill came to Estabrook with a unique requirement. They were using a steam primed bottom suction split-case pump from 1960 and needed a more reliable option. Additionally, the mill didn’t want to rework any piping. We looked over the installation and proposed a vertical turbine which would meet the specified duty point, eliminate the need for steam priming and won’t require any repiping. The customer was impressed with this creative solution and ordered the new unit as proposed.
